Supplier Management is Top of the Procurement Agenda

Date: Feb 16, 2017

70% of respondents to annual Deloitte Global Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) Survey, which describes the state of play in procurement and the key issues impacting the field, are focusing on supplier engagement through self-service solutions. The latest edition shows that procurement leaders are focusing on spend consolidation, increasing supplier collaboration, and restructuring existing supplier relationships in order to deliver margin improvements across their businesses. The survey also shows that emerging technologies present one of the key opportunities for improved value creation and better transactional efficiency.

In response to this increasing trend, leading finance automation provider, SoftCo, is hosting a workshop for procurement and finance leaders to offer practical advice on how technology can be leveraged to improve control over corporate spend and more effectively engage and manage suppliers. The workshop entitled ‘Take Back Control – Procurement & Supplier Management’ will be held in SoftCo’s Dublin HQ on Thursday 9 March at 8am and will provide attendees with access to a team of leading procure-to-pay consultant’s with over 25 years’ experience in the area.

“Cost reduction is a constant priority for procurement leaders but more and more businesses are realizing the role that procurement and supplier management technology can play in bringing about organization-wide reform and ensuring control over spend.”

The two-hour workshop will cover a range of topics including supplier on-boarding; supplier catalog management; ordering from suppliers; handling supplier invoices, queries, and account updates; and gaining full visibility over spend with in-depth reporting and analytics. The objective of the session is to assist procurement managers in the development of their technology strategy and to help Irish companies stay abreast of emerging procurement and supplier management solutions.

“There is no reason why procurement cannot embrace the digital revolution to offer a radically different value proposition to the organization. One that removes the traditional process led bottle neck, and the need to allocate significant human resource to still-essential transactional tasks.”
